Greetings from our Pastor and 1st Family
Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ! It is with exceeding joy that I am thankful unto God for placing us, the Wiggins Family, here and for the opportunity to serve as the Senior Pastor and Lead Servant of the Emanuel Missionary Baptist Church, Inc. Rest assured, that my wife, sons and I are looking forward to a joyous and fruitful ministry in the years to come. This is the Lord’s doing and all things happen in His timing.
As I began my time as your Pastor—as we (Pastor and People) begin this new journey together—my prayer is that God blesses us indeed, enlarging our territory and that we all come fully alive, to the glory of God being filled with all the fullness of God.
With Much Love, Your First Family
Pastor William B. Wiggins, Lady Cherie Wiggins,
Chance and Calen Wiggins

The Beginning
One hundred twenty-six years ago, an ordained minister, Reverend Martin V. Ferguson, came into the Mixon Town area from Quitman, Georgia. He was soon united in wedlock to Lavinia Storey. After living in the area for a while, he observed there wasn’t a Missionary Baptist Church in the surrounding area. Being a Baptist minister, this was his opportunity to be of service to the community by building a place of worship for Baptist believers. With God on his side, a few willing believers and faith, he began having services in homes throughout the community. Later, a small building was erected at the corner of Devine & Copeland Streets (now Forest and Copeland).
